Maria Folguera de la Camara

My contribution to your anthology is this email, to thank you for the beautiful night your work has given me. Sometimes art, or discussion, or words, or human contact, whatever your Anthology is, makes you stronger, makes you remember some things you had buried. This evening I've realized that I was beginnig to separate completely art from politics, or action from reality, getting to a sort of nihilism. But hell-no! The example of Mockus, who uses beauty and creativity to change things, fights the accusation of naiveté... We always tend to see that politics have corrupted art, using beauty and creativity to keep things just as they are...
And by the way, Jakob, I don't thing your scared. I just thing you're intelligent when you doubt about human capacity of getting better. Doubt is a sign of health; but the definite proof of health (that means for me strength, and joy) comes from your shared work: an hour discussing, exposing things, sharing with us, taking care of the other; and months, years, working on optimism and looking for the others' contributions...
I insist, thank you very  much.
María.
